those living in the surrounding areas,

of jobs, to air and noise pollution.

major £2 million refurbishment
to the passenger terminal was completed
in February 2006, delivering great new
facilities for passengers flying through
Blackpool. |

With
the Airport now able to handle 2
million passengers a year, and further
work planned for later in 2006 to
extend parking areas and the retail
facilities, the airport expansion
is in full swing.
In addition, new services operating
for Blackpool International Airport,
such as A2B Airways and Monarch Airlines
is also contributing to the airport
expansion, boosting tourism and business
in the local area.
Air and noise pollution is therefore
a concern for the local Birmingham
community. The Airport will
aim to minimise the pollution for
surrounding residents, however, it
is likely that the airport expansion
would have an impact on house prices.
Alternatively, an airport development
may create more jobs and act as a
hub for regular flyers, and so could
have a positive effect on the house
prices. |
